How to get MORE sales for your website

Do you want click through conversions on steroids?

Have you got pop ups, pop ins, pop unders or slide ins on your site? Bet they are not working as well as they used to.

Why – well, the main reason is that visitors to your site are becoming immune to those types of ads.The majority of the time, they probably just click the X and close the ad. Or, they have pop ups disabled in their browser.

Of course your ad also needs to be of high quality. Your visitor is only interested in ‘what’s in it for them’. You have maybe one or two seconds to grab their attention before they click away, so the first thing you must have is an attention grabbing title that has a great benefit in it.

Make sure also that the title has your main keyword in it.

Next you need to give them all the benefits of whatever you are promoting. Remember this is an ad, so keep it brief and VERY targeted. It is a no fluff zone – every word must be crafted to make your visitor do what you want them to do. That is to click through on your link.

If you have a good graphic, then make sure that it is in the ad. But again, it must be relevant to your product/site. For instance, if you are promoting an ebook or software then it is beneficial to use a graphic showing the item.

You should also embed a hyperlink in the graphic leading to your sales page or your affiliate page. You’d be surprised how many people actually click on the graphic and if you don’t have a hyperlink embedded then you are missing out on possible sales.

Now you’ve got your great title – using your main keyword or keyword phrase.

You’ve crafted all the benefits of your site/product so that your vistor knows instantly what is in it for them.

You’ve backed the benefits up with a targeted graphic that has your hyperlink embedded.

So your ad is ready to go live? NO, NO, NO – you still have a most vital part to include.

You must have a prominent ‘Call to Action’. Tell your visitor what to do (for their benefit) AND THEN, ask them to do it.

Depending on what you are promoting, your call to action will vary. It may be a ‘Buy Now’ button or your ‘PayPal’ button. The accepted call to action is ‘Click Here’. But if you use that then make sure the it is embedded with your hyperlink.

Whatever you use, it must be obvious to your visitor what they must do next to get access to the benefits that you have so carefully offered.

Do all of the above and your ad has a good chance of being click on. But those chances are diminishing if you are still using pop ups, pop ins, and pop unders.

You need new ways of showing off your ads that will make your visitor want to view them. If for no other reason than curiosity.

How do you do that? Well, you use the psychology of curiosity. If someone puts a box or maybe a photo album or book in front of you, doesn’t curiosity get the better of you? Don’t you just want to have a quick look to see what is inside?

Technology is forever changing and you now have the opportunity to use curiosity on your visitors.

Eventually they will get immune to it as it spreads through the internet, but for now it is hot so if you want to find out more about it :) just look in the top right corner – and click on it.

Put this on your website and I guarantee that you will get increased sales or sign ups – whatever you are looking for.
